Mistra continued their strong Baltic Handball League campaign with a disciplined and hard-fought 24:18 home victory over HC Cocks on Saturday afternoon, backing up their previous away win against the same opponents earlier this season.
After a tight opening period, Mistra gradually took control of the match through solid defense, efficient seven-meter execution and key contributions from their backcourt players. The home side led 11:9 at halftime and showed composure in the second half to pull away in the closing stages.
This result follows Mistra’s earlier 31:26 away victory against HC Cocks on 21 September 2025, confirming their dominance in the head-to-head series this season.
Mistra made an immediate impact, opening the scoring inside the first minute through Serhii Orlovskyi and racing to a 3:0 lead. HC Cocks struggled early, missing two seven-meter opportunities, but gradually found their rhythm to keep the score close.
A decisive phase came midway through the first half when Mistra capitalized on penalties and turnovers, stretching the lead to 9:5. Despite a late HC Cocks push that reduced the gap to 11:9 at the break, Mistra maintained control.
The second half saw HC Cocks briefly draw level at 15:15 in the 42nd minute, but this proved to be their last major threat. Mistra responded with a decisive run, led by Martin Nerut and Arno Vare, building a commanding 21:15 advantage. From there, the home side managed the game efficiently and closed out a deserved six-goal victory.
