GrIFK Climbs to Second Place in Rankings Ahead of Final Tournament

ZRHK TENAX Dobele delivered another emphatic performance in the Baltic Handball League, defeating Granitas-Karys 44:31 at home on Sunday afternoon. Building on their previous 45:28 away win over the Lithuanian side in September, TENAX once again confirmed their superiority with a fast-paced, high-scoring display.

The home team set the tone immediately. Goals from Antons Šuleiko and Emīls Kurzemnieks helped TENAX race into an early 9:3 lead within the first eight minutes, forcing Granitas-Karys into an early timeout. TENAX’s aggressive defense and quick transitions continued to trouble the visitors, while efficient finishing saw the hosts extend the gap steadily throughout the first half.

By halftime, ZRHK TENAX Dobele had already established a commanding 23:13 advantage. Kristers Suharevs and Kārlis Krūmiņš were particularly influential, repeatedly breaking through the Granitas-Karys defense, while Ričards Juzups was flawless from the seven-meter line in the opening period.

Granitas-Karys attempted to respond early in the second half, briefly reducing the deficit, but TENAX quickly regained control. A strong scoring run between the 32nd and 38th minutes pushed the score from 24:17 to 30:18, effectively deciding the contest. From there, the home side rotated their lineup while maintaining intensity, continuing to find the net from all positions.
